These photographs document several of the various types of mould which can be found growing on your average loaf of bread, given enough time and neglect. I am interested in the inherent contradiction of finding aesthetic beauty in something almost universally perceived as disgusting.

2010 Predictions by Thom Hogan

I think 2010 is a very pivotable year for the camera companies. Olympus, Panasonic, and Leica have made changes that flip them from downward trends to upward. Sony continues to try to buy market share. Pentax is still doing the same-old, same-old (even down to the digital 645 being on-again, off-again, on-again). Nikon and Canon seem to be mostly only seeing each other and more worried that the other gets the upper hand on them.

Five-Minute Portrait, Dean Collins Style

a 14-min video of an annual report cover [Dean] Collins did of two airline bigwigs back in the '80s.

Mathias Braschler and Monika Fischer on the Environmental Meltdown

two Swiss photographers, Mathias Braschler and Monika Fischer, are reconnoitering the ecological battle zone. Having survived a near-fatal car crash in 2004, the pair have since dedicated themselves to documenting in portraiture the human cost of the climatic chaos.
